~* Altered Wooden 'D' (CCCB #24 ~ Flowers & Frills and TSTR #29 ~ Pearls & Pastels) *~

Hiya Sweet Peeps!

Here's a Shabby Chic Altered Wooden "D" I made. I'm playing in these two challenges:

~ City Crafter Challenge Blog - CCCB Week 24 ~ Flowers and Frills: Use at least one flower and either some Lace or Doily.

~ The Shabby Tea Room - Week #29 - 'Pearls and Pastels': Pastel colors and/or be-jeweled theme of this photo inpiration by Clare (isn't it a gorgeous bracelet!!).

I used paints, distress inks, crackle paint, multi-medium...and a bunch of flowers (some flowers I distressed with inks), charms, pearls & buttons (from my friend Rina), and lace.

Hope you like it and hope you have a Happy Friday and weekend!

Hi Everyone!
Happy Friday!

This week's challenge was to base your project on one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World: Grand Canyon, The Great Barrier Reef, The Harbor at Rio de Janeiro, Mt. Everest, Northern Lights, Paricutan Volcano, or Victoria Falls. I chose the Northern Lights as my inspiration. SO pretty!

Supplies:

~Stamps: Hero Arts
~Inks/etc.: Distress Inks, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder, Glimmer Mist

Instructions:
1. Cut the white cardstock to 6" x 6".
2. Randomly stamp the doily stamp around the card with Versamark. Add embossing powder and emboss using a heat gun.
3. Use distress inks to create your Northern Lights :).
4. Stamp the sentiment.
5. Spray the entire card with Glimmer Mist.

Come play along with us at Papercraft Star this week! We'd love to see your creations! You have until Noon tomorrow (Saturday)...then the voting begins and lasts until Monday. Come and vote for your fave!

~* Life is But a Dream (Simon Says Stamp and Show Your Distressed/Sanded Projects) *~

Hi Everyone!

Wow, I must have been missing vintage/distressing/etc. a lot! I made this project tonite in less than two hours. I guess I was VERY excited to craft :)! Sometimes I think I like distressing because it's like painting, which I used to do in my elementary and high school days. I loved painting and creating abstract projects...it's pretty freeing (is that a word?).

I love this week's challenge at Simon Says Stamp and Show! I am all into re-purposing things...the base of this project is a thick sort of like what we now called chipboard. It may have been from the backing of a notepad or something. I added Tim Holtz Lost and Found papers and the letters I cut from one of the papers. Life is but a dream, don't you think?

I distressed the paper edges with the distressing tool and distressed everything with distress inks, alcohol inks, and starburst stains. Used some of my favorite Melissa Frances embellies (the wings), which I distressed. Added some lace, a trinket pin, a muse token, some Prima pearls, a bunch of flowers that I edged with stains, a clip...I clipped each corner with my Corner Chomper. Hope I didn't break it! It was quite hard to chomp, but I think it's okay ;p'.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you like my distressing ;p', hehe. I had a TON of fun creating tonite.

Have a great Tuesday!

{close-ups}

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
Just wanted to share with you the second batch of post-it note magnetic holders I made this weekend. Been doing good with the sales, thank you all for your kind words of support. I really appreciate them :)! It feels good to do good for others. I hope to make another batch if I can. I made some more masculine ones...hehe.

{BTW, my boss seemed to love his frame, yay!}

I really wanted to do some more vintage and grunge this weekend, but time didn't permit, hehe. Maybe I'll get to do some this week.

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it! Hope you have a wonderful week :)!

~* Happy Aloha Friday! - Post #2 *~

Hi Everyone!
Hope all is well! Things have been quite stressful in my neck of the woods. So many to-dos, including crafty projects I need to make for peeps...
Do you ever have projects you are debating whether to show or even give someone? Well, this is one. I guess I really wanted to make something different and special for my boss who is retiring. He has twin toddler grandkids...I saw this frame which was ALL black with off-white words. I wanted to make it more cheerful, hehe.
So, I painted it will metallic pearl white paint...inked it up...and added matte multi-medium. I added those butterflies I cut from a butterfly trim and glimmer misted with various colors. Then added some pearl accents around the inner edge of the frame. Oops, I also had to paint the letters black...it's not the neatest ;p'.
I guess I put too much pressure on myself. I hope he likes it.
Have a wonderful Aloha Friday & weekend :)!
*hugs* and Much aloha~!

~* Post-It Anyone? *~

{Close-ups}

Hi Everyone!
Been working on these mini post-it note holders for a sale at the office...a sale to raise moolah for a local charity. I always wanted to do something like this. It was actually a bake sale, but I asked if I could make crafts instead ;p'. I came up with a very simple project although it involves a lot of inking, glossy accents, bling, and stickles and a little stamping :). Some holders can hang, while most have magnets on the back. It was fun to package up. Crossing my fingers that someone will want to buy them, hee hee. I always wanted to do a craft fair so maybe this is good practice?
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Thursday (boy, this week is going by quickly)!

~* Simon Says Stamp and Show your Grunge *~

Hi Everyone!

Hope you're having a wonderful week so far! Things have been quite busy in my neck of the woods!

Here's a project I made for Simon Says Stamp and Show your Grunge. I started off with an 8x10 canvas that my friend gave to me awhile ago. I distressed it with inks and things...stamped it with a script stamp and stamped the edges. I got to use my new Tim Holtz Lost and Found papers and images along with this Prima mulberry paper that I wrinkled and inked up and glimmer misted.

I wet embossed the birdcage and the hanging sign piece and distressed it more with alcohol inks. The pecan candy image is actually from a real candy box that I just got recently from a friend who visited Louisiana. I thought the image looked vintage and wanted to use in a future project and it found it's way to this project :). I distressed it with inks and added crackle paint.

While cleaning, I also found the rolled rose paper flower that I made earlier this year (it's good to clean and find things to use, hehe). I added some mulberry roses and aluminum rose from my friends, Ar and Rina.

I tried not to use lace and pearls, but couldn't resist. I picked up some beautiful lace from my local sewing store...they are quite expensive, but they are so pretty!

There are some hidden messages in this project, hehe. It may seem like a mish-mash, but there is some method to the madness ;p'.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Here's a card I made for CCCB Week #22 - Tree of Books. It is for my friend's upcoming birthday. I started off with a really pretty MME card base. I added some pretty lace and trim, a vintagey button, a butterfly from a trim that I glimmer misted, a cute Hero Arts tree stamp, and some pearls...I also distressed the tree a little bit with inks.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!

~* Our Vintage Affair - Challenge #6 - Tag *~

Hi Everyone!
Just wanted to share with you a tag I made. I found this amazing blog challenge site, Our Vintage Affair, through my dear friend, Ira. Thanks Ira! She does some of the MOST amaaazzzzing vintage projects ever!! She inspires me!

Here's a tag I made using an image from Marie's Freebies. Isn't she a beauty? I started off with a piece of cardboard laying around...(I've been trying to clean and even found this image while I was cleaning too!). I distressed the cardboard by ripping off the top layer and added a bunch of Distress Inks. I used all kinds of flowers and some lace from my dear friends, Rina, Ar, and Rose (thanks girls!). Added a G45 tag image. Hung a little starfish charm from it. I glimmer misted some of the roses to be a brown color since they were white. There's bits of Prima lace, Webster's Pages trim, 7Gypsies seam binding...
Here's a closer view.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!!

~* Happy Fall! (Papercraft Star Challenge #13 - Sketch) *~

Happy Friday!

Here's a card I made for Papercraft Star Challenge #13 - Sketch. The sketch looks more like a scrapbook layout...so it sort of stumped me a bit. I haven't made too many layouts...so I decided to go the card route for this one. This is in keeping with the upcoming season. Love those warm colors!

Supplies:
~Paper: Basic Grey DP, MME tags
~Stamps/Inks: Hero Arts (alphas and the swirly), black ink, Distress Inks
~Misc.: 7G seam binding, metal leaf, K&Co dimensional stickers, twine, tiny attacher, Webster's Pages trim
Instructions:
1. Cut the BG DP to 5-1/2" by 4-1/4". Distress the edge with ink.

2. Cut a piece of the MME tag. Distress the edges of the tag piece and the other tag with an edge distresser and inks. Adhere the tags to the BG DP. Adhere the acorn and pumpkin dimensional stickers (ink the edges).
3. Stamp alphas to spell, " happy fall." Stamp three swirlies in the upper right corner.
4. Use tiny attacher to staple down the twine. Add a seam binding bow, a piece of WP trim, and a metal leaf.

Photo Inspiration (Katherynmd Etsy Shop)

Hi Everyone!

Happy Friday! Here's a card I made for Papercraft Star Challenge #12: Photo Inspiration. Typically, I try to use all the products I have, but this week...I just was tempted to purchase this Hero Arts stamp set. I had a lot of fun playing with it :)! And I actually just got the Martha Stewart doily lace punch and I'm lovin' it!!

Supplies:
~Paper: ivory cardstock; DCWV, Rhonna Farrer, and Deja Views designer paper
~Stamps/Inks: Hero Arts, black ink pad, Tim Holtz Distress Inks
~Misc.: Martha Stewart doily lace punch, Tombow pens
Instructions:
1. Cut a 4-1/4" (wide) by 5-1/2" (tall) piece of the DCWV DP.
2. Cut a strip of the blue Deja Views DP and use the punch to create a decorative edge on the top and bottom of the strip.
3. Cut a strip of the Rhonna Farrer DP.

~* Cherries Anyone? (ATS Weekly Wednesday Challenge ~ Corner Bookmark) *~

Hi Everyone!

Oo...I don't know what's going on, but I've been having the urge to create since last week ended...

Here's a corner bookmark I just made for the All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge. I really wanted to try it out. I used the C. C. Designs - Sugarplums - Cherry Emma along with some SU! DP. Love those cherries! I added some WP trims. I inked up the edges, added faux stitching,...and used a Martha Stewart punch. You know me, I wanted to add some flowers, but not too practical for a bookmark...it would get squooshed :(.

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

~* Dream Big (CCCB Week 21 ~ One For The Boys!) *~

Inspiration Photo from Leslie from A Creative Mint

Happy Tuesday (still Tuesday for us in HI)! Happy Wednesday too!
I don't make a lot of boy cards so this was a fun challenge this week at the City Crafter Challenge Blog - CCCB Week 21 ~ One For The Boys! I used my C. C. Designs - Sugar Plums - Spring Trevor stamp along with K&Company DPs. I fussy-cut the bicycle (& Trevor, hehe) out. I stamped "Dream" (thanks Tracy!) and "b i g". Added some buttons and twine (thanks Sam!). I added the red button since there was a pop of red in the inspiration photo and also because it reminded me of the fire coming out of the bottom of the space shuttles, which are on the background DP.
I adore the little kiddies in my life. I hope they can dream big and think positive. It will make this world a much better place :).
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
