~* Hello *~

Hi Everyone!

Wow, it's already 2011 in parts of the world. Happy New Year!!!

Here's a card I made using the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime papers (so pretty!!!) and the Flourishes stamp set Cherry Blossoms. I colored the cherry blossoms with my Copic markers and cut it out with a Nestie. I inked up all the edges...I added lace...and added some Prima flourishes that I modified a bit.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
- Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC98) - Challenge is to use pearls on your card.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a Happy New Year!

~* Farewell 2010 *~

Hi Everyone!

I am supposed to be cleaning...but I need some crafty therapy since I'm a little stressed ;p'. I created this card...and surprisingly, I can play along with many challenges, cool!

The stamp is C. C. Designs Sailor Honey. I colored her in with my Copic markers and then added Stickles. I added Hero Arts paper flowers, which I added Stickles and a sequin center. I drew in faux stitching around the DPs and around the flowers. I doodled little swirls too. I wrote in the sentiment.
I used the Skipping Stones Design SSD#057 sketch, but rotated CCW 90 degrees. The theme is from All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge New Year. The color inspiration if from Mona's challenge CR84FN8 (Bright Pink, Black, and Gray). I am also submitting this in City Crafter Challenge Blog ~ week 37 Stamp it Out (use a stamp no your project).
Wishing you and yours a HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR! Here's to an awesome 2011!!!

~* Let's Get Shabby: Challenge #19 Architecture *~

Hi Everyone!

This is an altered tray that I made for Let's Get Shabby: Challenge #19. The theme is Architecture. I was inspired by the arches and columns in the inspiration photo.

I must say that I am fascinated with architecture. Me and my friend have roamed downtown Honolulu several times taking photos of the gorgeous buildings. So much fun! The photo used in this project is of one of the photos I took of the buildings downtown. I love how there are arches and arches and arches...so fascinating!

I first gesso-ed the tray and painted it with Antique White acrylic paint. I used Pink Paislee Sweetness DP. I fussy-cut the flowers off the top of the DP and also fussy-cut around the image found on the upper right corner of my tray. I added a bunch of Prima roses and other paper flowers. There is some Webster's Pages bloomers, Crackle Accents on some of the flower and leaf images, Prima flourishes, Prima lace, pearl trim,...and a gold cherub.

I was really inspired to create :).

Thank you for stopping by! The New Year is quickly approaching! Here's to an awesome 2011, everyone!!!

~* Peace Be With You (365 Cards: Day 300 - Peace, Comfort, and Joy) *~

Merry Christmas, Everyone!

I've been meaning to use this stamp set by Flourishes stamps. It's one of the most beautiful lotus/water lily stamps I have ever seen. I colored the lotus flower and lily pad with Copics and the koi are colored with Tombow pens. (I'm still building up my Copic collection, I think I need to add more purples and oranges and yellows...hehe.) The sentiment is also from the same set and I punched it out with a Stampin Up! punch. I inked the edges a little with Baja Breeze. The designer paper actually says the word "Peace" in the upper right corner. I fussy-cut all the images out and I popped up the lotus flower and sentiment with foam tape.

This card speaks peace, comfort, and joy to me, which is the theme at 365 cards - Day 300.

Have a wonderful time with your loved ones!
*hugs* and Much aloha to you~!

~* Post-It Note Holder - G45 Style *~

Hi Everyone!

I don't know about you, but I'm pooped. I think I'm going to take a nap now, hehe. I made this post-it note holder for a gentleman at the office the other nite...he seems to like my crafts, he bought two during the office charity sale and talks to me about them, hehe! I wanted to make him a more masculine one. Mind you, I didn't embellish as much, partially because it was getting to heavy for the magnetic clip to hold and also, it's for a guy ;p'.

I used Graphic 45 Proper Gentleman papers to decorate the base and the clip. I added Crackle Accent to the car image and distressed the edges with ink. I did a little layering of the papers and made a cover for the post-it pad. I added a metal charm. I also used a Tim Holtz stamp, ripped the edges and distressed them with ink.

Hope he likes it ;p'.

If I don't have a chance before then, I wanted to wish you all, my sweet bloggy friends, a very Merry Christmas!! I am truly thankful for all of you!

*hugs* and Much aloha~!

~* Scandinavian Vintage Christmas (TSTR#41 and CCCB#36) *~

Hi Everyone!

I just received the Graphic 45 Deluxe Edition Christmas Past collection in the mail today, yippees! I know, it's a little late, but I was trying to resist buying it...but, I guess you can see that I couldn't ;p'. I love the vintage goodness in the paper collection.

I created a wall hanging using the papers and the image from the collection. I used the frame sort of Rina-style. I distressed the edges with ink. Added some vintage pom pom trim, pearls and Stickles in gold. The sentiment is also from the collection. I added Stickles around it also. It is hung using the fabulous seam binding from the Pixie Dust Paperie.

I am playing in these challenges:

-The Shabby Tea Room: Week #41 - 'Scandinavian Christmas'

inspired by the colors and theme...
-City Crafter Challenge Blog ~ week 36 Vintage Christmas
vintage inspired collection of paper and image...

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #12 *~

Happy Sunday, Everyone!

Today is the last day of Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas, it is Day #12. If you haven't stopped by Tim's blog, do so...he has some fabulous tags and techniques today and he also shows us his "base tray." It's pretty neat if you like Sizzix Movers and Shapers. I need to buy some of his movers and shapers ;p'.

My tag base is made from Tim's seasonal stack. I cut it out the paper to fit my #8 tag. I distressed the edges and then added walnut stain.

I used the rock candy distress crackle paint technique he used to create his "ornament," but I used a stain to color up the grunge paper first (he used grunge board). I used a Sizzix ornament die. It came with the heart. I adhered the ornament to the tag and added gold Stickles in the two holes of the ornment and then glossy accents over it. I added some tissue tape that looks like a banner (similar to tag #6) and then added "L O V E" from Tim's vintage market alpha die. I added a little bit of Stickles and some black soot ink to the letters.

The December calendar is from his Lost and Found paper pad. I distressed the edges and added walnut stain. I adhered the heart on top of it and rubbed a little bit of Stickles on the edges. I added a vintage image above the calendar that I distressed with antique linen.

The green trim is Webster's Pages. I added it to the top of the ornament and at the bottom of the tag. Added some rose buds that I had dipped into UTEE.

I added two poms from the top with a mini safety pini and then added some peppermint baker's twine.

Thanks for your sweet comments! I made it!! Woot woot! Do you have a favorite tag?
I also made some little gifts for some friends at the office last nite. I hope to share them with you soon.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you're having a lovely Sunday!

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #11 *~

Hi Everyone!

Happy Saturday!

I had a fun-filled day today :)! I didn't get any Christmas shopping done, but just had a fun and relaxing time. Yay!

There are two more days left for Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas. Thanks for sticking with me and my challenge for myself to finish all 12 tags. So, here's my tag for Day #11.

For today's tag, I started off with some of Tim's Lost and Found papers. This was one of the dictionary prints. I used the tag and bookplates die to cut out the tag. I wet embossed the snowflake stamp in clear along the left side of the tag. I inked up the tag with broken china, tumbled glass, stormy sky, and milled lavender. I also edged it with walnut stain.

The tree is a grunge paper diecut that I cut using a Sizzix die. This time I only cut up until the tiny trunk (didn't cut the planter/pot). I wet embossed the tree with metallic green. I left a few areas not embossed including the tiny trunk. I inked it up those areas with frayed burlap. Added some metallic pearl white paint for snow and also inked up the edges with walnut stain. I tied a bit of burlap string on the trunk. I like the stuff that Tim used.

I stamped the sentiment from Tim's Odds and Ends stamp set. I inked up the edges and then adhered it to the inside of the bookplate. I added some metallic pearl white paint onto the bookplate to tone it down.

~* Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger: All That Glitters (2nd Post) *~

Solara Ring by Anne Sportun from Sundance

Hi Everyone!

Wowee, two posts in a nite...hehe. I've been meaning to play in the Moxie Fab World's challenges, but just haven't gotten around to it...Isn't this Trigger photo amazing?!? I admit, I don't work with these colors often...but I found some pretty papers and wanted to play!
Tuesday Trigger: All That Glitters - I was inspired by the pretty lavender colors and the circular bling ring :)!

I inked up the edges of everything with one of my new Distress Ink faves, milled lavender. I'm also loving the Prima poinsettias I bought awhile back and am using up now like a storm. The purple trim is the one I received from Tracy :) and the white one I recently picked up.

I think I had a thought before I went to sleep the other nite to use this bling circle on a doilie. I had a little drama with it because it kept curling on itself, but I think it came out okay, hehe.
Come play along, you have til' Sunday :)!
Thanks for stopping by!

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #10 *~

Hi Everyone!

Today was all about re-using. I re-used one of the plastic packaging from my TH Typecharms to make the clear dry embossed overlay for the tag. I die-cut the plastic with Tim's tag & bookplate die and also used one of his Texture Fades to make the swirly-whirly pattern (oh, his snowflurries Texture Fade is so pretty...ahh, another thing on my wishlist, hee hee).

I started off with a #8 tag and I used metallic pearl white acrylic paint on the edges. I then masked the snowman in since I did not have the snowman die. I used tumbled glass, broken china, and stormy sky. I stamped a SU! snowflake stamp with stormy sky in the background and added a Hero Arts sentiment stamp. I removed the mask then added the metallic pearl white acrylic paint on the snowman except for his arms, carrot nose, and hat. I then used a q-tip to add color to his carrot nose (wild honey), hat (black soot), and arms (frayed burlap). Mr. Snowman has a red tinsel scarf. The bottom has some Maya Road rose trim (one of my faves)...it reminded me of snow. I had flatened it so the tulle-ish part was revealed (if you zoom in you can see it).

I attached my plastic tag overlay onto my tag with my Tiny Attacher. I added some burlapy trim and peppermint baker's twine (I love this stuff, hehe)!!!

Sorry for the pix...it was a little hard to take a photo of ;p'.

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #9 *~

Hi Everyone!

Ohmy, I love Tim's tag today for Day #9! I don't know, it may be my most fave. Love the vintagey goodness!

For the tag, I used a Prima music note stamp. I then used wild honey and frayed burlap along with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Iridescent Gold (there are splotches of glimmer using Tim's technique today). I distressed the edges and added walnut stain. I didn't have the long fasteners so I skipped that embellishment.

I don't have his rosette die so I created my own rosette just by bending a piece of paper every 1/4 inch. I used an edge punch that I won at CCCB from Cheryl (Thanks CCCB and Cheryl!). I distressed the edges of the rosette with walnut stain. I used the tinsel around the outer edge of the rosette as Tim did. I made a sort-of-rosette with crepe paper and I edged it with gold Stickles.

I didn't want to make my tag all brown-y...so I added a little bit of glittery color by adding the Thickers spelling out "love" and "peace". I inked the peace to be a light blue with my fave SU! baja breeze. I added glossy accents over the Thickers. I wrote in "and harmony." I used an angel button and two gold snowflake buttons. I tied some 7gypsies seam binding at the top that I had crinkled. Added a little pearl charm I made using goodies from Rina.

I hope for peace on earth too. Thanks for stopping by! I wish you a fabulous Aloha Friday my sweet friends :)!

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #8 *~

Hi Everyone!

Here's my tag for Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #8. Today's tag used some cool masking techniques. Let's just say that it just confirmed that I'm not the best at masking, hehe. I don't know how one keeps those masks nice and tidy because mine looks pretty yucky now. I think I'm not patient with sticky things that need to be removed with care. My poor masks...hehe...;p'

Anyhoo, I used some of my new fave Distress inks - milled lavender and stormy sky. I had a hard time stamping over the image. I used my SU! stamp set again and one of Tim's stamp sets. I also used Tim's flourish (a different one than he used) on the outside portion of the tag. I added Stickles in frosted lace on those (love that one!). I distressed the edges with walnut stain as Tim did.

I didn't have the rest of the materials...so I just opted to add a Making Memories trim and some Making Memories poinsettia and leaves and a pearl center (I added Stickles on it).

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Thursday!

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #7 *~

Hi Everyone!

Here's my Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #7.

Today, Tim had a cool technique to create a poinsettia from his Tattered Florals die. I used Smooch Spritz in Cherry Ice and Emerald Sprinkle to color up the Sticky Back Canvas instead of the Perfect Pearls Mists. I hand cut the leaves since I did not have the Tattered leaves die. The edges of the petals were inked up with aged mahogany and the edges of the leaves were inked up with bundled sage. I don't have Rock Candy Stickles so I just added some regular Stickles in frosted lace. The center is one of my fave pearl buttons.

I dry embossed the tag with a Cuttlebug music notes embossing folder. I inked it up with brushed sage. The edges were distressed and I inked them with walnut stain.

I should have cut smaller leaves, but that's okay. I added some Prima poinsettias and pearls in the center. I used some Thickers that I stamped with Staz-On and Tim's script stamp.

I added Webster's Pages trim at the top and attached the Type Charm like the one Tim created. I looove Type Charms, hehe.

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #6 *~

Hi Everyone!

Boy, was I feeling exhausted today...not feeling the best...I took a little nap and then felt a little better...here's my tag for Tim Holtz' 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #6. If you hop over to Tim's blog, you'll see our tags look quite different. I did try out the techniques that he used with some improvising. I used a couple of his texture fades. I only have grungepaper so I used that instead of grungeboard for the trees. I used metallic white pearl paint and then did he technique and then added Distress Ink in bundled sage. The Peace and Joy stamp is a Flourishes stamp.

~* Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas - Day #5 *~

Happy Sunday!

Here's my tag inspired by Tim's Day #5 "12 Tags of Christmas" Tag. I did a lot of improvising...I used some pretty blues/purples in this one.

~I applied acrylic paint in antique white around the edges of my tag before adding distress inks. I think I may have waited too long because all the ink didn't quite come off, but you can see the edge. I used stormy sky and milled lavender.

~I used Stampin Up! stamps as well as Tim's script stamp. I added Distress Stickles in broken china on the gal's skirt. I added the paint over their sweaters and hats.

~I used regular Stickles in frosted lace on the snowflakes.

~The poinsettias are Primas. I used Tim's technique in adding paint then UTEE to a metal embellishment. I picked up the flower copper piece from my Michaels visit back in October. I used metallic pearl white paint and clear UTEE. I'm not sure if the paint daubers are more heat resistant than my regular acrylic paint, but it seemed to bubble up and disappear. I added the baby Prima rose and this fabric lavender flower I dipped in UTEE. I also added the pearl flower from a Prima pearl flourish. The cute felt flower is from my friend Tracy, along with the pretty trim on the bottom. I added some fuzzy fiber from my friend Marie. thanks girls!

I must say that I'm super behind on my Christmas presents and things...aiyah! I hope to make some gifts today!
