~* Happy Happy Birthday, Sweet Kirsty! *~

Hi Everyone!

I was very happy when Ros asked me if I wanted to participate in a Birthday Blog hop for our Sweet Bloggie Friend, Kirsty of Handmade Little Things! Here is a card I made for Kirsty to wish her a Happy Happy Birthday filled with lots of love, friendship, laughter and smiles :)!!!

Kirsty is the Creator of and Designer for the City Crafter Challenge Blog and the Pixie Dust Paperie. Two fabulous sites filled with wonderful inspiration. She is also a very sweet bloggie friend.

I created this card using the Pink Paislee Sweetness collection. I inked it up...and I weaved the burlap twine through the lace trim. Added some more burlap twine and paper and fabric flowers along with a epoxy sentiment tag. Accented the "sweetest day" frame at the top and the lace image at the bottom with some Stickles. Used one of my fave Hero Arts silhouette stamped images. Added some pearls around her neck. Again, adding some pretty vintagey buttons, a little bit of twine, and some more flowers.

Kirsty, sorry this will be a little late getting to you. I hope to send it off ASAP. Hope you have a fabulous birthday!!!

Big *hugs* and Much aloha to you~

~* Guest Designer at the City Crafter Challenge Blog for Week #56 ~ By The Sea *~

Aloha Everyone!

I was pleasantly surprised and honored when Kirsty from the City Crafter Challenge Blog asked me to be a Guest Designer this week. Thank you for the great honor, Kirsty! Love your challenge blog and love all your designers. You are all so talented and sweet!

The theme of this week's challenge at CCCB Week #56 was "By The Sea." I had a blast "playing" with this fabulous image from Shannon's Sentiments. Thanks Shannon! The wonderful image is called Chaise and Umbrella.

I started off with a kraft cardstock card base, added some light colored burlap fabric, then some burlap twine, and then the beautiful image, which I distressed. I colored in the image as well as distressed the image with Distress inks. The edges of the card base and the image were also distressed and I added some shells.

Thank you again, Kirsty, for this great honor, and thanks for stopping by!

*hugs* and Much aloha to you~!

~* Happy Mail from Ira & a Mother's Day Message *~

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to share with you some happy mail that I received several weeks ago from my dear dear friend, Ira. Thanks so much, Ira, for sending me such sweet goodies. They definitely brightened up my day especially your handmade beauties!

For all the mommies out there, wanted to wish you a lovely lovely Mother's Day!

The weather has been strange the past week. We had a terrible thunderstorm on Monday...they said there were 40,000 lightning strikes! I hope that you all are well and just know that I am thinking of you all even though I haven't been able to visit. It's just been really busy and exhausting ;p'.

*hugs* and Much aloha to you,

Steph :)

~* Altered Shabby Chic Graphic 45 Once Upon A Springtime Frame *~

Photo Inspiration

Aloha Everyone!

Still busy as a bee ;p'. Hope you are having a fabulous weekend so far! I made this Altered Frame for my Mom for Mother's Day. I did the same technique to create the crackled effect as the Shabby Chic Trinket Box. I fussy cut a bunch of the beautiful images from the Graphic 45 Once Upon A Springtime Collection. I added Diamond Dust to the fairies' wings and the bunnies' coats and tutu. I also added Crackle Accents and Glossy Accents to some of the images to make them more dimensional. Added some burlap twine, a butterfly button, some paper flowers, and a bunch of glass pearls that I randomly placed.

I am entering this project into The Shabby Tea Room's Week #59 - 'Butterfly Wishes.' We were asked to create a card or project based on the inspiration photo and use BUTTERFLIES. I was inspired by the "Springtime" feel and of course, the beautiful butterflies. The fairies in the collection actually make me think fo butterflies...

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a lovely lovely week!

*hugs* and Much aloha to you,

Steph :)
