~* May Arts/Helmar September Craft Challenge – Ink it! - Shabby Chic/Vintage Muslin/Burlap Fabric Mini Book - Project #1 *~

Aloha Everyone!
Sharing with you one of the two projects that I created for the May Arts/Helmar Craft Challenge - Ink It!  The challenge was to: use 450 Quick Dry, each ribbon we provide you with & that you color the ribbon (I selected the flowers, suede leaves, mini pom poms, and canvas trim).

I made this book from pieces of burlap and muslin that I cut.  I love the texture of these two fabrics.  I used the beautiful Prima Romance Novel paper collection by Marion Smith.  All the papers have a "white-wash" of Antique White acrylic paint and the edges are distressed with paint.
Photo#1: The front cover has lots of layering of lace and trims, flowers (paper and fabric), pearls, and images from the collection.  I inked up the May Arts mini pom pom trim on the left-hand side of the book with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Old Lace.  There is a strip of the May Arts canvas trim under the lace that was stamped with a rose stamp and inked up with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Crushed Shells.  I added two stickpins that I made near the May Arts rosette that I cut from the trim and colored it up with Lindy's Stamp Gang in Cape Cod Coral.  I added a pearl brad to the center.  I colored up the May Arts suede leaf with Lindy's Stamp Gang My Mojito Green.  There is a Tim Holtz mini paper clip, a metal key with a tiny pearl heart brad and a bit of lace tight around it.  I added Crackle Accents to the typewriter image.  There are some pink trinket pearls.
Photo #2: I added the designer paper to a coin enveloped.  Distressed the edges with paint.  Added some of the images from the collection.  The May Arts flower and suede leaf were colored with the same colors as the cover.  I added a small Prima rose to the center of the May Arts rosette.  I added some Prima pearl bling.  The bottom has the May Arts mini pom pom trim that was sprayed with the Lindy's Stamp Gang in Cotton Candy Pink.  I folded the pom pom trim over its self so the pom poms only show.
Photo #3: I added Crackle Accents to the typewriter image.  There is a bit of lace at the top which I layered a sentiment from the collection and added Crackle Accents.  I also layered two lace trims and some black pearl flower trim on the right side.
Photo #4: I added tiny ivory pearl flower trim on the left side, layered some of the images from the collection and added Prima pearl bling.
Photo #5: I also layered some of the images from the collection and the tiny envelope on the bottom is from the collection.  I added a bow I made from lace trim and there is a magnetic closure.  The bottom has the May Arts mini pom pom trim inked up with Lindy's Stamp Gang in cotton candy pink.
Photo #6: I added some eyelet lace at the top and layered some medium sized pearl flower trim on top.  The bottom has three layers of tiny delicate lace.  I added a May Arts flower that is inked up with Lindy's Stamp Gang in Salt Water Taffy.  The center of the flower is a pretty vintagey button.  The May Arts suede leaf is inked up with Lindy's Stamp Gang My Mojito Green.
Photo #7: Added some lace trim at the top.  Layered the "Note To Self" which I cut out from the collection on top of another tag image from the collection.  Added some Glossy Accents to the rose.  On the right bottom corner, I added Crackle Accents to the typewriter and added a Tim Holtz typewriter charm and added a bit of that tiny delicate lace.
Photo #8: This page is simple because I loved the beautiful image and did not want to cover it.  I added Crackle Accents to accent some of the flowers.
Photo #9: Layered some delicate eyelet lace, lace, and the May Arts mini pom pom trim I sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang in cotton candy pink.
Photo #10: Added some pretty lace with pink peaking behind.  The typewriter has some Crackle Accents and I fussy-cut the sentiment from the collection.
Photo #11:  I made the big rosette with the May Arts canvas trim using the same technique that we used as kids to make roses out of lauhala leaves.  I sprayed it with Lindy's Stamp Gang in cotton candy pink and added a half-back pearl as the center.  I made the May Arts mini pom pom trim into a poofy flower.  It is inked up with the same cotton candy pink.  There is a baby Prima rose, some trinket pearls, and a glittery pink leaf.
Photo #12: This is the back cover showcasing one of the lace trims that was wrapped around the book.
Here's a sideview of my book (below).  It came out quite chunky :)!

~* Mahalo! *~

Aloha Everyone!

This card is dedicated to all your sweet gals who support me with your sweet comments!  I really really appreciate your taking the time to stop by and comment.
I made this card using the super duper adorable "Beach Babe Sofie" from Sweet Nothings Paper Co.  I've been eyeing this digi for a long time!  Finally purchased it today!
Unfortunately, my toner is running out in my laser printer so the image isn't as dark as it should be, but it came out ok.  I colored up the image using my Copics with the Autumn Color Palette of this month's challenge at SNSC September 2012 Creative Challenge.
"Challenge: To use the color palette provided above. You may tweak it as you wish and add any other elements you'd like. Be as creative as you wish :D(Colors- dark peachy tan, candy apple red, bright coraly orange, light peachy tan, light sky blue)."  I must say that orange is out of my comfort zone, hehe.  I had a ton of fun playing along!
The huge flowers are fabric flowers from a lei that I purchased.  I added one of the pearl drops from a trim as the stamen.  I also stickled the edges with Candy Cane Stickles which has red and orange tones.  The bling is Prima bling.  It was perfect because some of the pearls were the orangish/coral color.  The sentiment, "Mahalo," is a sticker that I adhered with dimensional foam tape.  I added some burlap twine string and a coconut shell button.  There is a doilie die-cut and I layered a circle on top.  Added some epoxy accents in white.  The little flower is a paper flower that I colored up with my Copics.  I colored the stamen yellow.  It was white :).  I added small cream colored flower trim and chubby teardrop pearls in the creamy coral color.  I added the Stickles around the sentiment and on top the pearl trim.
Mahalo for stopping by!  Hope you're having a fabulous weekend so far!

~* Shabby Chic Altered Tissue Box (from Target Dollar Bin) *~

Happy Thursday (actually still Wednesday over here)!  Almost Happy Aloha Friday!
Sharing an altered tissue box that I made.  I had a lot of fun creating it!  I created a housing for one of those tissue boxes you can pick up in the dollar bins at Target!  I made it so the recipient can take out the old box when they are finished using all the tissues and replace with a new box of tissues :).
I used K&Company Girly Girl DP along with a pretty multi-colored eyelet lace.  At the seam, I added three Wild Orchid Craft roses as the "buttons."  The top edge has some trinket pearls.  The top is covered with some DP as well as some delicate lace, trinket pearls, organza trim with flower beads, Wild Orchid Crafts heart crystal spray and roses and a fabric flower.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your week!

~* Graphic 45 Little Darlings Keepsake Home Decor/Ornament *~

Aloha Everyone!

Sharing a re-purposed altered project today!  I used the paper mache box that housed my Making Memories Je t'adore embellishments.  I painted it with gesso and then with China Blue acrylic paint.  The outside and top rims are stamped using Graphic 45 Antiquing Dye Ink in Bon Voyage Blue.  I also distressed over the stamping and China Blue paint with Antique White paint.  I used the beautiful images from the Graphic 45 Little Darlings collection.  I love the image of the mama and her baby.  I added a sweet crochet flower and paper rose in the mama's hair from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Bits of delicate white lace with blue crochet edging are peaking out on the top right and bottom.  The trim is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I fussy-cut a lot of the adorable images, distressed the edges with Antique Linen, and layered them.  The top left flower cluster has Crackle Accents here and there as well as a paper rose and a piece of Prima Alencon lace.  There is a cluster of WOC roses at the top right.  I distressed the flowers with Antique White paint.  Some cream trinket pearls hang from the cluster.  I added some blue heart pearl trim, cream trinket pearl trim, and a bit of sheer organza ribbon with a little flower.  The outer rim of the box has the stamping as I mentioned as well as the beautiful organza trim with blue half-back pearls on top.  The back has some designer paper from the collection.  I distressed it with paint and added some pearls around the paper.  At the top, I added some scrap organza trim that has a pretty accent on top.
I am entering this project into Challenge #30 - Good Things Come in Small Packages at Fashionable Stamping Challenges.  Here is a description of the challenge: "For this challenge you can really go to town with … ATC’s, Inchies, Domino Books or even a baby’s card or layout, the list is endless just like your imaginations."  I decided to make this baby keepsake home decor/ornament.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a fabulous week!

~* My First Shadow Box Card using Prima's Tea Thyme Collection *~

Aloha Everyone!
Sharing a shadow box card that I created using the beautiful Prima Tea Thyme Collection.  Making this card for the first time was a little challenging, but I think it came out pretty good.
I used kraft cardstock as a base.  All the edges of the papers are inked up with Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  The inside paper is distressed with some Antique White acrylic paint.
The cover has a beautiful wide lace, adhesive lace from kawaiigoodies, Offray ivory rosette trim on the spine, Crackle Accents on the images, and the pretty Prima trinket that I tied some soft delicate lace to.
The inside of the shadow box card features a pretty Sarah Kay image that I colored up with my Copics.  I added a bunch of Wild Orchid Craft roses and the white Guipire lace in the background.  There is also a cute birdcage and a Prima birdie trinket.  I also added Crackle Accents to the images.
Love that there is so much layering that can be done with this shadow box card.
I'm entering this puppy into Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge 58 - Layer it up.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of your weekend!

~* "With Love" Altered Paper Bag & Card *~

Aloha Everyone!
Happy Weekend :)!!!  So happy the weekend is finally here!  Here's another altered paper bag and card that I made.  I am so addicted to making these!  I don't know what is it...maybe since I {heart} kraft!
I created this altered paper bag and card using the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings collection.  Love the beautiful images.  I did a bunch of layering and distressing of the edges with Antique Linen.  I added some  yummy laces and pearl trims and a bunch of Wild Orchid Crafts products including the paper flowers, one of the stick pins (the white pearl with crown bead cap), and the blue and white lace.  I used my fave Crackle Accents and even added some lace tied onto a cute Eiffel Tower charm.  Finished it off with a heart pearl.
I'm entering this project into The Shabby Tea Room's Week #129 - 'Summer Cottage' challenge.  The challenge was to create a card or project inspired by the COLORS from the photo and INCLUDE DISTRESSING/SHABBY ELEMENTS plus a TITLE/SENTIMENT!  I used the peachy, greens, distressed neutrals,...shabby chic colors and my sentiment was cut out from the collection - "With Love".
Thanks for stopping by and have a fabbie weekend :)!
