~*Tsunami Rose Design Team: Grunge-y Chic "Card" using TRD's Damask Madam Paper Pack*~

Aloha!
Sharing another Design Team Project for Tsunami Rose Designs.  I created this "card" using the gorgeous "Damask Madam" Paper Pack.  I used a 6x6 black chipboard, which I distressed with gesso.  I cut a white piece of cardstock to mat the designer paper and distressed the white cardstock, as well as the designer paper, with Black Soot Distress Ink.  I curled up the upper left corner of the designer paper and put a little piece of black lace I purchased from MB's Treasurista.  I added some black satin trim and white satin trim and there is a row of black bling mesh.  I added some black Guipuire lace and lots of paper roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I also added a Spare Part paper rose and black doilie.  There is some trinket pearls and stickpins that I made.  All the paper flowers are distressed with gesso or Black Soot Distress Ink.

~* Prima Divine Spring Altered Shadow Box for the May Arts Spring Craft Challenge *~

Aloha!~
This Spring Shadow Box was created for the May Arts Spring Craft Challenge :).  I used a wood box that a co-worker had given to me to upcycle.
I first added some Martha Stewart Stucco Paint to the inside of the box.  I then added a layer of gesso over that and on the outside of the box.  Love the texture.  I sprayed the gesso with some Tattered Angels and Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays.  I added some text print tissue paper and some gesso over that.  I later painted the inside edges with gesso mixed with blue-ish acrylic paint.  I used the beautiful Prima Divine Collection.  I fussy-cut a bunch of the images out from the papers.  I added Crackle Accents to the rose images and gesso to all the edges.  There are tons of yummy Wild Orchid Crafts paper roses, pretty baubles (pearls and crystals and ceramic beads), fused pearl strands that I made into baubles, crochet doilie, tatted crochet heart doilie, a little plastic dove, and a paper doilie.  I also added a dangley crystal charm from the ceiling of the box.  Everything is distressed with gesso.
Here is the inspiration photo:
I used the following May Arts trims in my project:

  • Teal String: 449-34 {top left}- used this trim to tie the bow made with the White Eyelet trim, made a little rolled crochet "center" for my bows at the bottom right corner and the bouquet on the left side of the box.
  • White Eyelet: 447-38-01 {top middle}- used to make the bow at the top of the box, lined the edges of face of the box with the trim, and made a bow at the bottom with the trim.
  • Natural Burlap: 398-4-11 {bottom middle}- created the burlap rolled rose at the top of the box and at the right-hand corner of the box.  Also, added a piece of the trim on the bottom of the box.
  • Salmon Faux Lightweight Canvas: 444-58-20 {bottom right}- wrapped it around the box and also created a bow with it at the bottom right corner.
On April 15th, everyone's projects will be posted on the May Arts blog and you'll have a chance to vote for your faves :).
Happy Spring :)!
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

~* Vintage Country Card for Paper Crafts March Gallery Challenge *~

Aloha!
I saw the challenge posted on FB mid-day today for the Paper Crafts March Gallery Challenge and wanted to make a card (the deadline was today, midnight, MT(?).  I made this card in about 30 minutes cause I had to go somewhere, hehe.  I had a lot of fun playing.  I used the Prima Almanac collection.  I distressed everything with Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and also with my fingernail.  I tore parts of the paper to reveal some straw-like trim beneath that I distressed with Distress Ink.  I punched out the images at the top from the collection.  I also layered that straw-like trim that I distressed, some designer paper from the collection, and an image from the paper.  Added some twine and a vintage-looking button.
Not sure if they wanted vintage, but that's what came to me when I thought Country Fresh since I immediately thought of the roosters in the Prima Almanac collection :p'.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

~* Tsunami Rose Design Team: Shabby Chic Shadow Box ~ Afternoon Tea ~ Using TRD's Life Abloom *~

Aloha!
Sharing another Design Team Project for Tsunami Rose Designs.
I altered a mini canvas using a couple of the gorgeous images from the "Life Abloom" Printable Journal Kit.
I started off with this little wood box that I got for free along with a little Japanese towel inside from Marukai as my free birthday gift.  It was dark brown so I painted it with a couple coats of gesso.  I then adhered some tissue paper with text print that I got from the Target Dollar Bin to the outside faces of the box.  I distressed it with white acrylic paint.
I adhered the gorgeous papers from the "Life Abloom" printable journal kit to all faces of the inside of the box as well as the front faces of the box.  I fussy-cut the roses and adhered them on the left corner of the box.  I also adhered the paper to the back of the Kaisercraft Wood Flourishes teapot and to the front of the teacup.  All the edges are distressed with gesso or white acrylic paint.
I added a paper doilie to the back of the box and also an image I cut from the paper.  I added a bunch of Wild Orchid Crafts roses, halfback pearls, trinket pearls, bling, Stampin Up! cabochon, a crochet doilie from my friend  Marisa, and some bits of Prima Alencon and other laces.  I also added a bow that I made from some seam binding.

~* Mini Canvas with Stand using Sushi Dolls' "Sushi Teacher" *~

Aloha!
Sharing a mini canvas with stand that I made using the adorable "Sushi Teacher" digi from Sushi Dolls.  I made it for my cousin who is an elementary school teacher.  I hope she likes it.  I tried to keep it simple, something she could put on her desk.
I colored her with my Copics and also the extra apple.  I added Glossy Accents to the larger apple.  I used "lined paper" from Prima and the 2+2=4 is from Graphic45.  I added some cool alpha trim, a button with twine, and some wood alphas that I strung on twine then added some baby Prima flowers and half back pearls.  I added some Stickles to her chunky glasses, the baby Prima flowers, and the letters on the wood banner.
